Police seek public’s assistance in purse snatching incident.

 

The Kingston Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a purse snatching incident at a local park.

 

On May 4, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m. the victim, an 89-year-old individual, was sitting on a bench in the area of Bagot Street and West Street. The victim had placed their purse on the ground beside them while they read a book.

 

The suspect, who was riding a bike, snatched the victim’s purse off the ground and rode away.

 

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 40 years old, with a puffy clean-shaven face. At the time of the incident the suspect was wearing a grey long-sleeved shirt with black sleeves, dark pants with a grey or green pattern and dark shoes.

 

The suspect was possibly wearing a hat underneath a green hood which was covering their head at the time of the incident. The suspect was last seen riding a blue bicycle north bound on West Street towards Bagot Street.
